Doroth's life at campus

My life at Makerere University is humorous but rather explicit. Socially, I arrived at Makerere on 4th August, 2016. I got my provisional letter, went to bank my tuition and later proceeded to rent a house of residence. I excluded myself from the hall to which I am attached, that is Africa, and from the hostels due to the chaos that was found there. I was so anxious about the 6th August, 2016 which was the original day for reporting. I couldn’t wait joining the great Makerere- the ivory tower. It was obvious that sincerely I was head over heels.

Unfortunately, not everything comes on a silver plate, fate had to intervene and the non-teaching staff strike persisted and the university was not opened until 20th August, 2016. On that day, we were called in the freedom square where we as freshers all overegged for orientation. At first I saw strange faces only. My heart came to a standstill as the doldrums of despair gave a kick of fear. What a strange situation that was!

At last, for no situation is permanent, I saw someone swaggering towards me and I made out the face. I closed my eyes and opened my arms. Tight in my embrace was Daphine my old friend!
